Tauran Insurance: corporate general insurance with a 30-year history
Tauran Insurance Company JSC is a Kazakhstani general insurance company headquartered in Almaty. Many clients know it by its former brand "TransOil": the company was established in 1991, later operated under the name AXIS Insurance, and in May 2026 received its current name. The insurer's main focus is compulsory and voluntary insurance for enterprises: liability of owners of hazardous facilities, environmental insurance, and insurance of cargo, transport, property and financial risks.
Change of name and 2026 licence
On 25 May 2026, on the basis of a decision of the extraordinary general meeting of shareholders, AXIS Insurance Company JSC underwent state re-registration in connection with the change of name and became Tauran Insurance Company JSC (abbreviated as IC Tauran Insurance JSC). The company separately notified clients that the change of name does not affect existing contracts: the rights and obligations of the parties are fully preserved, and all policies remain valid on the same terms.
On 18 June 2026 the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market reissued the licence under the new name: the company operates under licence No. 2.1.29 for the right to carry out insurance activities in the "general insurance" sector. In addition, on 24 June 2026 the annual general meeting of shareholders decided to remove from the licence the class of compulsory motor third-party liability insurance (OGPO VTS) and to transfer the corresponding insurance portfolio to another insurer, to be determined in the manner prescribed by law.

Important: the decision to remove the OGPO VTS class from the licence means that the compulsory motor insurance portfolio will be transferred to another insurance company. Holders of current OGPO policies should watch for notifications about which insurer will take over the portfolio, and it is sensible to take out a new motor insurance policy with a company that continues to operate in this class.

Insurance of liability for harm caused to the life, health and property of third parties as a result of an accident at the facility. Operating such facilities without a policy is prohibited; the contract is concluded for 12 months or for the period of activity, but not less than six months.

Contact the company's call centre or the claims settlement department immediately after the incident.
Submit a claim
Fill in the insured event claim form on the website in the "Services" section or at the company's office in Almaty; online payment processing is also available.
Attach the documents
Prepare the policy, an identity document and materials confirming the event: reports, findings of the competent authorities, photos and damage calculations.
Receive a decision
After checking the documents and assessing the loss, the insurer makes a decision and transfers the payment within the time limits established by the contract and the law.
